When a week makes sense

If you are in South Florida for five to ten days and love the water, a week aboard can replace the hotel: private staterooms and bathrooms, one unpacking, and a different view every morning. It suits families and multigenerational trips, friends sharing cabins, honeymoons and milestone trips, executives mixing work and the Keys, and people trying the lifestyle before buying a yacht. Where a week can go

What a weekly charter includes

The captain and crew, and on many yachts a chef or a stewardess; staterooms, a saloon and a galley; the tenders and toys the yacht carries, from paddleboards and snorkel gear to jet skis. Food, drinks, fuel and dockage are usually covered by an advance provisioning allowance, a share of the base rate paid before boarding and reconciled at the end of the trip, so you pay what the week actually used. Booking a week

Send the dates, the number of nights, the guests and cabins, where you would like to go and a budget. The team proposes weekly-ready yachts, holds the week, and sends the charter contract; a first deposit secures the yacht, and the balance and the allowance are due before boarding, with the route, provisioning and packing planned in between. Start eight to twelve weeks ahead for peak season, earlier for holidays. Cards, bank transfer and, on some yachts, crypto are accepted.
