20 Person Yacht Rentals in Miami
A 20 person yacht rental in Miami means one of two things: a Coast Guard inspected event boat certificated for the whole group, or two private yachts of up to 13 guests each that leave together and raft up at the sandbar. Private yachts stop at 13 guests by law, so a group of 20 never squeezes onto one.
None of our private yachts carries 20 guests. For a group that size we book an event vessel — tell us the date and we will put options together.
Why a standard yacht stops at 13
The private yachts booked by the hour in Miami are uninspected vessels, limited to twelve passengers for hire plus the charterer. That is a Coast Guard rule, not a house policy, and it holds on a 40 ft cruiser and a 120 ft yacht alike. Every person aboard counts, children and babies included. Twenty guests therefore need either a vessel certificated for more, or more than one boat. Both are set out alongside the bigger options on large group yacht charters in Miami.
One event boat, or a raft-up
An inspected event boat carries a Certificate of Inspection for its passenger number, so all twenty sail on one deck with one sound system, one bar and one cake. It is the choice for a birthday dinner, a corporate outing or a wedding-week cruise where the group should stay in one room.
A raft-up puts the group on two private yachts, ten on each or thirteen and seven, which cruise out together and tie up side by side at the Nixon Sandbar, Haulover or the Marine Stadium basin. Guests swim and move between the boats, and each yacht keeps its own captain and crew. Any two boats from every yacht rental in Miami can be paired, each priced as its own charter.
Yacht rental in Miami for 25 guests
Twenty-five is planned the same two ways. An inspected event boat certificated for 25 or more keeps everyone on one deck; a raft-up puts thirteen on one private yacht and twelve on the other, tied together at the sandbar with a captain on each. Every guest counts toward the 25, children included, and the quote names the boats, the hours and the dock. Bigger groups are on 30 person yacht rentals in Miami.
The 6-guest mini boat
On select charters Feeling Yachty adds a mini boat for up to six that ties up with the main yacht and the raft-up: for VIP arrivals, a quick run to the sandbar, or photos and video from the water. It is booked as its own charter with its own licensed captain, so every boat stays inside its passenger limit. Ask for it when you request the quote.
Price, hours and where you board
Event boats for 20 to 40 guests usually start at around $2,500 to $4,000 for a short charter, higher at weekends and holidays; a raft-up costs the two yachts’ own prices added together. The quote covers the yacht side, captain, crew, standard fuel, ice and water; the crew gratuity, catering and premium bar are separate. Most groups book four, six or eight hours: four for a sandbar and a skyline run, six for food and a long swim, eight for a full day. Boats board at Miami Beach Marina, Island Gardens, Bayside, Dinner Key or Haulover, confirmed in the written itinerary.
Kids, older guests and safety
Every boat carries life jackets for its full rating, children’s sizes included, and the crew gives a short safety briefing before departure. For small children, older guests or non-swimmers, say so when you ask: the team picks boats with easier boarding, more shade and a calmer route. The full standards are on yacht safety protocols.
