Miami Water Sports & Yacht Toys

Miami water sports on a yacht day are of two kinds: toys that ride on the boat, paddleboards, kayaks, a floating mat and snorkel gear, used where the captain anchors; and activities with their own operator, jet skis, jet cars, scuba, wakeboarding and water skiing, booked alongside the charter so the whole day is one booking.

Miami Yacht Rentals

On the yacht, or alongside it

Toys on the boat. A paddleboard, a kayak, a floating water mat or snorkel masks travel aboard and come out where the captain anchors, usually a sandbar or a calm cove. What each yacht carries is on its listing; the water mat comes with every charter, and anything extra is confirmed with the boat.

Activities with an operator. A jet ski, a jet car, a dive, a wakeboarding or ski session is run by a licensed operator with its own craft, crew and safety briefing. It meets the yacht on the water or at the dock for the hours you choose, and the team books it with the charter so the timings line up. Start with the boat on every yacht rental in Miami.

Choosing by group

  • Families with children: the water mat, paddleboards and kayaks at a shallow sandbar, and snorkeling on a calm day.
  • Thrill-seekers: a jet ski or a jet car between the sandbar and the skyline, or a wakeboarding session.
  • Certified divers: a reef or wreck dive with a dive operator, and snorkeling for the non-divers.
  • A party: toys at the sandbar and a jet ski for turns, with food and drinks from Miami yacht services.

The rules on the water

Florida law requires anyone born on or after 1 January 1988 to carry a Boating Safety Education ID card, or a temporary certificate from a short test, to operate a vessel of 10 horsepower or more, and the operator checks it before the ride. Personal watercraft cannot run between sunset and sunrise in Florida, so jet ski time is planned in daylight. Divers and snorkelers fly a divers-down flag and boats keep clear of it; towing a skier or rider needs a spotter aboard besides the driver. Life jackets are worn on every jet ski, jet car and towed ride.

The captain’s call

Swimming and every toy are at the captain’s call on the day: wind, current, boat traffic, lightning and water quality decide where and whether guests go in. Nobody swims while the engines are running, and anyone who has been drinking heavily stays aboard. The reasons are set out on yacht safety protocols.

Booking a water sport

Choose the boat first, then add the activity at checkout or by message. Activities with an operator need about a day’s notice and the names and ages of the riders; toys on the boat are confirmed with the boat. Where a price is in the catalogue it is shown on the card; other activities are quoted for your group.

Do I need a licence to ride a jet ski in Miami?
Florida requires a boating safety ID card or a temporary certificate for operators born on or after 1 January 1988; the temporary test is taken before the ride.
Can children use the water toys?

Add water sports to your charter

Send the date, the boat and who wants to ride, and the team books the toys and the operators around your charter.

7 things you can add
Jet Car Rentals in MiamiA jet car is a two-seat watercraft built to look like a sports car: you sit in the cockpit, steer with a wheel and cruise Biscayne Bay at speed with the skyline behind you. In Miami it is booked as a session with its own operator, before, during or after a yacht charter, and quoted by the team for your riders and timing.Ask us
Jet Ski Rentals in MiamiA jet ski rental with a Miami yacht charter puts a personal watercraft beside the boat for the hours you book: riders take turns between the sandbar and the skyline while the rest of the group stays aboard. The jet ski is priced by the hour in the catalogue below, booked with a long enough charter, and every rider is briefed first.Ask us
Paddleboards & Kayaks for Miami Yacht ChartersPaddleboards and kayaks on a Miami yacht charter come out where the captain anchors, at a sandbar or a calm cove, so guests can paddle around the boat, explore the shallows and come back aboard for lunch. Some yachts carry them and some do not, so they are confirmed with the boat, along with life jackets for every paddler.Ask us
Scuba Diving by Private Boat in MiamiScuba diving by private boat in Miami is a reef or wreck dive run by a licensed dive operator, with a divemaster, tanks and weights, arranged around your yacht charter. Certified divers bring their card; non-divers snorkel or stay aboard. The team books the operator and the yacht together, so the dive plan and the boat fit the same day.Ask us
Snorkeling from a Private Yacht in MiamiSnorkeling from a private yacht in Miami means anchoring over clear, shallow water, seagrass, sand flats or a patch reef, and slipping in from the swim platform with a mask and fins while the rest of the group stays aboard. The captain picks the spot for the day’s wind and visibility, and a longer charter leaves time to reach the clearer water.Ask us
Wakeboarding in MiamiWakeboarding in Miami runs from a tow boat set up for it, with a driver, a spotter, a tower, ropes, boards and life jackets, not from a cruising yacht. Riders take turns on calm water while the others watch from the boat, and beginners get instruction. A session is booked on its own or alongside a yacht charter and quoted for your riders.Ask us
Water Skiing in MiamiWater skiing in Miami is done behind a tow boat with a driver and a spotter, on calm water in the bay, with combo skis for beginners and a single slalom ski for confident skiers. The session is booked on its own or alongside a yacht charter, with the skis, ropes and life jackets included, and quoted for your skiers and timing.Ask us
