Weekly Yacht Charters from Fort Lauderdale

A weekly yacht charter from Fort Lauderdale is seven nights aboard a crewed yacht of 55 to 120 feet with cabins, a chef and a captain, running the Florida coast to the Keys or across to the Bahamas: priced as a base rate for the yacht and crew plus an allowance for fuel, food and dockage, quoted per itinerary.

Fort Lauderdale Yacht Charters — By the Hour, Day, Weekend or Week

Where a week goes: Keys, Bahamas, Palm Beach

South along the Intracoastal and the reef to Key Largo and Islamorada; east across the Gulf Stream to Bimini, the Berries and Nassau when the window opens; or north to Palm Beach and Jupiter for the calmer version. The captain plans the legs with you a week out and re-plans them with the weather.

Yachts that charter by the week

The 55 ft and up yachts with two or more cabins and heads, a galley the chef can work in and the range for the Bahamas; the Fort Lauderdale ones and the Miami ones that come north are on luxury yacht rentals.

How a weekly charter is priced

A base rate for the yacht and crew for the seven nights, plus an advance provisioning allowance (APA), usually a third of the base, that pays the fuel, food, drink and dockage as the week goes and is settled at the end. Crew gratuity is on top. The day and weekend versions are on Fort Lauderdale yacht charters.

Provisioning and the chef

You send a preference sheet; the chef shops against it and cooks three meals a day from the APA. Dietary needs, the bar list and the children’s menu go on the sheet.

Documents for the Bahamas

Passports for everyone aboard, the yacht’s cruising permit and fishing permit, and a customs clearance at the first port; the captain files the yacht’s papers and you carry yours. A shorter version of the crossing is on weekend yacht rentals.
